This morning I was quite nervous because I was going to conduct a training with one demanding customer. Yesterday, my senior colleague "warned" me and reminded me to equip myself with as much "shield" (knowledge) as possible to protect myself from the various "attacks" from that customer. I studied their requirements in order to understand better their expectations from our payroll system (my company is selling payroll system and I'm doing the after sale support).
I departed early from my house so that I can reach at customer place punctually. I'm well-known for always lost whenever I go in this earth. This time I followed the maps given by my colleagues. See that? It is map"S" which is plural. One computer printed map and another one drawn by my senior colleague. I was fine all the way and according to the map I was almost there. However, I missed the junction again...= = Somemore this time was on highway. I was forced to do a big...really big U-Turn back to the right destination. Thanks to the toll guys who gave me a correct direction.
When I arrived the place, I walked straight in to meet the client. "Wow...she is scary..." That was her first impression to me. "Hi, I'm Robert. May I know where is the toilet?" That was my first question to her. I went to the toilet to wash my face and cool myself down a bit. "Cool down man, you can do this" Haha, funny right? I was excited and at the same time wondering what kind of questions will she throw to me. The training started. I explained as clear as possible each of the items on the payroll system. She started to question me a lot of things. It was kind of hard to understand her questions...or may be my understanding is bad and I wasn't that good in explaining in sentences. So I did something to clear her doubts and it worked! I used examples and different scenarios to answer most of her tough questions. At last, I wasn't that tense after she started to joke in the middle of the training. Obviously she was satisfy with the way I answered her and the training went smoothly. Even though I still have some questions to get back to her by tomorrow but I'm satisfied with my presentation. lol. Praise the Lord! :)
